Hi! I'm Maddy!
I'm so happy you're here!
I've been an artist for as long as I could hold a pencil, and have trained professionally in art for 5 years at university, resulting in a first class bachelor's and a distinction level master's degree. I live in north yorkshire with my amazing soon-to-be wife, but originally I am from south london, and love meeting people from all over the country.

Love is, and always has been, one of my most favourite things in the world. Nothing makes me happier than someone finding their person, and it soon became obvious that I should be combining my love for art with my love for... well, LOVE!

I can't wait to hear from you, and if you'd like me to immortalise your special day, please get in touch!

I also love doing live painting and illustrations at all kinds of events! contact me to talk about birthdays, corporate events, and more!

FAQs
most of these are wedding specific, so feel free to contact me about any questions you might have about other events, such as birthdays or corporate events.
What time will you arrive and leave?
That depends on what package you choose! I am happy to arrive when you need me, and will need about fifteen minutes to set up. I don't stay later that 7:30pm usually, but I am happy to discuss this. Usually with Guest Illustrations, it works best for me to arrive to set up during the ceremony, as I can then get photos of your guests when they come out, and get drawing throughout the meal and speeches!
What happens on the day?
Live Wedding Painting:
I will arrive at the venue and set up my easel. If timings and your chosen package allows, I will take photos of the appropriate background that you request for the painting, and begin painting this on the canvas.
When the time comes to take a photo of the moment you have chosen, I will take your photo, then carry on with the painting. My easel can be moved around the venue to follow where your wedding party is, but I will set up and paint wherever you or your wedding planner wants me to.
Guests can come and see me paint, chat to me, and even put down a brushstroke or two (under my guidance only!).

When the time comes for me to leave, I will let you know, and you and your partner can come and have a look at the painting (depending on the package you choose, I will then leave you with the painting, or take it home with me to finalise it.)

Guest Illustrations:
I will arrive at the venue when agreed and set up on the table that you/ the venue has provided. PLEASE ENSURE that you put my table somewhere in the MAIN wedding room where your guests will be after the ceremony, so your guests know I am there! Guests can then come over to the table, have their photo taken by me or my assistant, and I will illustrate your guests through the ceremony and reception. I usually will not be able to draw every single guest that attends (unless your wedding party is small), so your core wedding party will be prioritised, as well as any special requests you have asked me for.

The finished illustrations will be displayed on the table for the rest of the evening, and when each guest leaves, they can take their drawing with them (or the wedding couple can keep them, it is entirely up to you.)

When it's time for me to leave, I will leave the rest of the drawings displayed on the table so they can be collected and admired by your wedding party!
What moment will you paint?
This is entirely up to you. We can capture moments such as first look, first kiss, first dance, or you can pose for me somewhere in the venue if you'd like more control over the pose.
What happens after I enquire?
I will email you back as soon as I can, to gather any details I need. We will agree on a package, I will send you an invoice, and you will send half of the payment as a deposit within a week of receiving the invoice. This deposit is non-refundable if YOU cancel, but will be refunded if I cancel for any reason.

8 weeks before the wedding, the other half of the payment will be due. This is non-refundable from this point as above.
What do you need from us in the venue?
I will need to have access to a chair, and have enough space to set up my easel. If I am doing Guest Illustrations, I will need a table, too. PLEASE ENSURE that you put my table somewhere in the MAIN wedding room where your guests will be after the ceremony, so your guests know I am there! If we are outside, I will need to be under cover in the shade. I will bring everything else i need.
If i'm with you for 6 hours or longer, if you would like to feed me on the day, I would greatly appreciate it! I will take a break to eat when you do, and will eat away from the wedding party.
How far can you travel?
I am based in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, but I can travel as far as you need me to, but my travel costs (and accommodation if the venue is very far or overseas) will need to be covered!
Are you inclusive?
I am queer and very passionate about LGBTQIA+, POC, and disabled representation (I even wrote both my dissertations on inclusivity!) so YES! I can't wait to work with a huge range of different people. Pride and inclusivity is not reserved for certain months of the year!
Are you okay with guests and children interacting with you?
Yes!!!! I am here to entertain your wedding party as well as capture your special moment, and love when people come to interact with me while I paint. I used to work with young children and absolutely love sharing my creativity with them, and they can even have a go at popping down some brushstrokes on the canvas if they're brave enough! Please note that when doing guest illustrations, I won't be able to chat to guests much as I will be trying to draw as many guests as possible.
I already had my wedding! Can you still paint us?
OF COURSE! I would still absolutely love to paint your wedding photos. Do get in touch so we can discuss this!
Can you include (family member who has passed/ pets/ other guests)?
I would love to include any loved ones, furry or not. This may incur extra charges, depending on which package you decide on.
Do you have insurance?
I am fully insured with Public Liability Insurance.
